Videoconferencing Systems Upgrade
A single point of contact made upgrading corporate video conferencing facilities painless.
PATTERSON COMPANIES is an industry-leading specialty distributor serving the dental, veterinary, and rehabilitation supply markets through its Patterson Dental, Patterson Veterinary, and Patterson Medical businesses. Patterson Office Design Manager MIKE STARK directs the production of 3D aided office designs provided to customers as they explore expanding or starting a new practice.
MORE EFFICIENT, EASY-TO-USE AV SYSTEMS
Stark managed a major upgrade of the AV conference facilities for the Patterson Medical headquarters, which recently relocated to Warrenville, IL. Among the projects for this new facility was improving an older system which was functional but lacked efficiencies. “With new construction, we had the opportunity to improve the interface with the AV system by concealing wires and simplifying the tabletop controls,” Stark said.
"Ultimately we decided to go with MTG because we felt they would provide the best service."
Patterson wanted to connect conference rooms in multiple locations with a user-friendly, feature-rich interface and “beef up” international video conferencing capabilities for the boardroom. Because location handles a high volume of customer service calls, the company also needed a slick interface for displaying customer waiting time metrics to employees.
CUTTING-EDGE AND COST-EFFECTIVE
MTG was one of several companies brought in to bid on AV systems design and installation. “Ultimately, we decided to go with MTG because we felt they would provide the best service,” Stark explained. “They were also great at explaining the differences between products and could walk us through the pros and cons of different options. MTG understood the need to implement a cutting edge AV system design that met requirements driven by the business but with a cost-effective mindset.”

MTG worked with the Patterson team to fine-tune the design and meet their budget. “We’re not AV experts. They are,” Stark said. “MTG educated us from a cost-performance standpoint and helped us set priorities. We were able to control costs, without sacrificing core features or ease of use.”
SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT
MTG Project Manager Scott Harrold was Stark’s single point of contact from first interview through post-production. “Having one knowledgeable person that we can count on, rather than having to track down different people for various phases of the project saved us a lot of time.”
Throughout the process, MTG was very responsive and worked well with the general contractor.
Harrold flew to Warrenville several times during the system design and installation, and kept Stark updated with regular calls and emails. “Throughout the process, MTG was very responsive and worked well with the general contractor. They really stayed on top of things all the way through.”
